People can only make sustainable choices if they can afford sustainable options. Sustainability is a necessity, not a luxury. Many "sustainable” products on the market today are sold at a significant premium, making them inaccessible to most consumers.
New materials need to fit seamlessly into the supply chain. The apparel supply chain is complicated, and as much as brands want to use more sustainable materials, they often cannot make a change that requires buy-in from every step in the production process.
